The Selection of course is the first novel in The Selection Series by Kiera Cass. When thirty-five girls between the age of 16 and 20 are invited into the royal palace, to compete for the attention and love of the beloved Prince Maxon, a nineteen-year-old prince in line for the throne. America Singer, a seventeen-year-old girl, eligible to enter the Selection receives the notification letter about the Selection, and she doesn’t want to enter because of her undying love for her current (and secret) boyfriend, Aspen Leger. But after some convincing from Aspen, and bribery from her mother, she agreed to sign up. She placed in her entry, and was surprisingly, chosen. Throughout the Selection, America finds herself in situations she never thought she’d be in, and she felt things she never thought she’d feel, and made friends she never thought she’d ever meet. Though she never wanted to enter, she soon discovers that she may have a shot at the title.
